About Author Ellen J. Perry

Ellen J. Perry (Master of Arts, English) is an author, teacher, and women’s rights activist based in western North Carolina.  Her academic interests include 17th- and 18th-century British life and literature, Restoration drama, and Southern/ Appalachian culture.  Ellen’s short story “Milk, Bread, Soft Drinks” was awarded First Place in Fiction by the Bacopa Literary Review and published in their print journal (October 2015).  Additional works of original fiction have appeared in Steel Toe Review, Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, Minerva Rising, The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, Deep South Magazine, and Gravel among others.  Ellen enjoys teaching her amazing college students, traveling, dancing, working on ERA ratification, contributing to women’s rights projects, and playing with her stylish cat, Ms. Coco Chanel.
